The classical music of Hindustan has a very ancient origin in the India of the Vedas. The current system and its compositions called raga live on since centuries ago.
Always in constant evolution, its essence has remained intact. Greeks, Persians, Turks and
Arabs were influenced by the refinement and complexity of this music. All the peoples of antiquity seem to have considered India as the homeland of music.
